Children's Crisis Treatment Center (CCTC) is seeking a part-time Peer Specialist to join the Parent/Caregiver Services Program. As a Peer Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals and families in accessing and engaging with behavioral health services.
Key Responsibilities- Co-facilitate parenting groups under the guidance of a lead facilitator, fostering a supportive environment for caregivers to share experiences and learn from one another.
- Attend and participate in all initial and continuous education/training opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills in providing peer support.
- Support the management of records, quality assurance, quality improvement, and outcome measurement related to CCTC's Parent/Caregiver Services, ensuring accurate and timely data collection.
- Connect families with other CCTC services and community resources that may benefit the family, promoting a holistic approach to care.
- Establish and maintain rapport and supportive relationships with individuals and caregivers of children with behavioral health needs, as well as with partner agencies, building trust and credibility.
- Participate in agency-wide committee meetings as assigned, such as the Caring Families of CCTC committee, to contribute to the development of policies and programs.
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the organization's goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency.
- Lived experience accessing/participating in children's behavioral health services and navigating the behavioral health system.
- Excellent administrative, organizational, and communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to employ thoughtfulness, diplomacy, sensitivity, and good judgment when working with vulnerable populations.
- Flexible work schedule required, including some evenings and off-site work.
- Training and/or experience providing peer support or similar services is a plus.
- Covid-19 vaccination required.
