Job Overview

SUMMARY

The Senior Systems Engineer is accountable for overseeing the processes throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for a large-scale enterprise portal catering to a million users. This role involves close collaboration with Cyber Security Engineers, Solutions Architects, Software Developers, Test Engineers, Operations Teams, Product Owners, and Creative Technologists to deliver efficient and functional solutions while ensuring design consistency across all project stages.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the creation of interface requirements and documentation for interface specifications.
  • Facilitate integration activities with team members, develop testing plans for integration/interface assessments, and compile test result reports along with metrics.
  • Generate or contribute to existing documentation as necessary.
  • Lead reviews of interface requirements in a collaborative environment to support verification processes, traceability, and risk assessment.
  • Assist in test planning by identifying testability criteria and reviewing test cases and defects as required.
  • Provide insights for planning and scheduling related to project and release management.
  • Collaborate with the Cyber Security team to ensure compliance with governmental security standards.
  • Maintain consistent and punctual attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related Technical Field, along with a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient knowledge and expertise in software and system requirements.
  • Understanding of online learning environments is essential.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Skilled in data analysis and presentation, including proficiency in graphic software such as PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Ability to manage requirements traceability from system-level requirements to derived lower-level requirements.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Must obtain and uphold any necessary security access and/or background checks (U.S. citizenship required).
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with business solution software.
  • Previous experience with programming languages, hardware, operating systems, and software is advantageous.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Salesforce CRM is a plus.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities for technical challenges.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required.
  • Able to work effectively in a team setting as well as independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating exceptional organizational skills and flexibility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage diverse tasks while adhering to time constraints.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness; actively monitors own work to ensure quality.
WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time. Additional hours may be required to complete assignments or projects.

TRAVEL

Potential for travel. When necessary, the employee will need to complete a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

Must possess or be able to obtain a valid state driver's license and be insurable under the company's automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required for training and/or occasional local travel. Expected driving time is less than 10%.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily remote; however, the company reserves the right to require onsite work as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position involves prolonged periods of sitting. Frequent use of hands/fingers for keyboard and mouse manipulation is required. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
  • Salary range is $130,000 to $160,000 annually.
