Job Overview

Allied Machine & Engineering, a prominent manufacturer based in Dover, Ohio, specializes in innovative holemaking and finishing cutting tool systems. Our products are designed to provide the most economical solution for various applications.

We are seeking a motivated outside sales professional who is eager to leverage their technical expertise to promote our superior products to prospective clients. While prior experience is advantageous, it is not mandatory due to our comprehensive Field Sales Engineer Training Program. This role will focus on a designated sales territory.

Position Overview: Oversee sales activities within a specified region and serve as the primary representative for all distributors and end users in that area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate a strategic business plan for the territory, identifying target accounts to achieve necessary sales growth. Collaborate with the regional sales manager to review and refine the plan quarterly.
  • Enhance and nurture existing business relationships with end users and oversee distributor activities linked to these accounts.
  • Expand the customer base by acquiring new end user accounts and managing distributor relations associated with these accounts.
  • Compile and maintain a comprehensive list of end users within the territory.
  • Establish and foster strong relationships with distributors.
  • Assess and suggest modifications to distributor stocking and discount programs to drive sales performance.
  • Inspire distributor sales teams to boost company sales through various initiatives, including product knowledge training and promotional programs.
  • Maintain a high level of technical knowledge regarding all company products and effectively communicate this information to distributors and end users.
  • Develop original equipment manufacturer (OEM) accounts as directed by the regional sales manager.
  • Stay informed about company sales policies and ensure distributors are updated on any changes.
  • Conduct workshops or seminars for distributors and end users as necessary.
  • Ensure timely reporting of itineraries, expense reports, trial order records, and other business documentation to maintain effective communication.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by the regional sales manager.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate degree in engineering or technology, or equivalent experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Background in machining is preferred.
  • Training program available for all candidates.

Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
