CTR Corporation is seeking a skilled Planner and Estimator to support our Shipyard Client in Virginia Beach, VA.
Key Responsibilities- Write Work Specifications, ship checks, and estimate labor, material, and subcontractor work at paragraph and line-item level for U.S. Navy Ship repair work, alterations, and modifications.
- Assess ship material condition, research ship drawings, technical manuals, analyze ship condition assessments and tests, and determine scope of work required by reviewing and validating Work.
- Collaborate with the Supervisory Planner/Estimator to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Journeyman level experience in a related field, such as electricians, pipefitters, shipfitters, welders, or outside machinists.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in an office environment.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant tools.
- Prior experience in the Navy is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Competitive hourly rate: $24 - $30 per hour.
