Job Description

Colonna's Shipyard is seeking a highly skilled Superintendent to support a project in Norfolk, VA. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of projects within the shipyard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement project plans, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Monitor and control project costs, ensuring adherence to budget and financial targets.
  • Lead and manage a team of technical personnel, providing guidance and support to ensure project success.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Manage project documentation, including reports, records, and communication.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in heavy industrial/marine fabrication construction, project management, planning, estimating, and contract negotiations.
  • 5+ years of experience in project analysis, take-off, and estimating in industrial heavy fabrication projects.
  • 5+ years of experience in contract management, scheduling, man loading, and change order negotiation.
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment and boxes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Engineering or Management Degree (Structural Engineering or Construction Management) preferred or equivalent experience.
Security Requirements:
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a TWIC Card.
Travel Requirements:
  • Minimal Travel; 10% or less.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment and boxes.
  • Must be physically agile to perform tasks in naval ships.
  • May ride ships at sea for extended periods.
