Shipbuilding Planner

General Dynamics NASSCO is a leading provider of ship construction, repair, and maintenance services. We are seeking a skilled Trades Planner to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing planning documents, procedures, and work items in accordance with company instructions and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and issue planning documents, procedures, and work items
2. Integrate and review planning process with primary parties and government affiliations
3. Prepare advanced planning reports for dissemination to government
4. Conduct meetings to inform key personnel of planning updates
5. Work closely with Estimators to ensure integrated planning schedule

Requirements:

1. BA/BS in a related field or AA/AS plus two years' experience
2. Familiarity with working in a naval shipyard environment
3. Ability to work aboard marine vessels, climb ladders, and wear personal protective equipment
4. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
5. Expert ability to communicate with other disciplines or groups

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with regular exposure to noise, dust, and other hazards. Reliable transportation and a DBIDS badge are required.
