Job Title: Trades Planner Lagging

General Dynamics NASSCO is a leading provider of ship construction, repair, and maintenance services. We are seeking a skilled Trades Planner Lagging to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia.

Job Summary:

The Trades Planner Lagging will be responsible for developing and issuing planning documents, procedures, and work items in accordance with applicable instructions, directives, and procedures. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and issue planning documents, procedures, and work items in accordance with applicable instructions, directives, and procedures.
  2. Conduct ship-checks as required and integrate, review, and validate the planning process with primary parties and government affiliations on a weekly basis.
  3. Prepare advanced planning reports for dissemination to government for processing.
  4. Conduct meetings to inform key personnel of planning updates and work closely with estimators to ensure all information is represented appropriately to produce an integrated planning schedule.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required, as well as the ability to read drawings, blueprints, standard items, and specifications of work items. The candidate must also be familiar with working in a naval shipyard environment and be able to work aboard marine vessels, climb ladders, work in tanks and confined spaces, and wear personal protective equipment.

Working Conditions:

The Trades Planner Lagging will work in a fast-paced environment with regular exposure to noise, dust, and other hazards. The candidate must be able to physically transit all areas of the facility and have reliable transportation. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
