Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Midstate Radiology Associates. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating MRI equipment and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures on patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform diagnostic MRI scanning procedures, selecting the correct technique and utilizing patient assessment to produce high-quality images.
  2. Participate in complex invasive MRI exams, assisting radiologists in performing procedures and producing images for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
  3. Start intravenous sites, assess existing sites, and inject contrast agents according to established protocols.
  4. Maintain MRI equipment in good working order, cleaning and disinfecting after each use and reporting any issues to supervisors.
  5. Demonstrate yearly competencies in conducting examinations and meeting patient needs, including knowledge of anatomy, medical and surgical disease, and scientific principles.
  6. Assess physician orders and patient requisitions for completeness, ensuring the correct procedure and protocol are performed.
  7. Document patient and exam information, storing computerized images on archive media for future reference.
  8. Prepare examinations for radiologist interpretation, setting up films and accurately inputting data in the RIS system.
  9. Perform and document weekly quality assurance testing on equipment to maintain high performance.
  10. Work effectively as a team member, providing quality service through communication, cooperation, and collaboration.
  11. Provide clinical supervision and instruction to students, maintaining understanding of policies, procedures, and the clinical competency process.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved radiology program.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
  • CT state license.
  • CPR certification may be required.
  • Maintenance of continuing education credits as required by licensure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one year's experience as a radiological technologist.
  • Associates or Applied Science Degree in a related field.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of radiological technology, including anatomy, medical and surgical disease, and scientific principles.
  • Patient care standards and requirements.
  • Quality assurance principles and practices.
  • Customer service principles and practices.
  • OSHA principles and practices.
  • TJC standards of practice.

Special Conditions:

May be required to rotate on night, weekend, and/or holiday call schedules. May be required to cover ancillary offices as needed. OSHA Class 1 exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens. May involve physical lifting and/or walking.
