Job Summary:

Midstate Radiology Associates is seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating MRI equipment and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform diagnostic MRI scanning procedures, selecting the correct technique and utilizing patient assessment to produce high-quality images.
  2. Participate in complex invasive MRI exams, assisting radiologists in performing procedures using sterile technique and producing images for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes.
  3. Start intravenous sites, assess existing sites, and inject intravenous contrast according to established protocols to aid in diagnosis.
  4. Maintain MRI equipment in good working order, cleaning and disinfecting after each use and reporting any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to supervisors.
  5. Demonstrate yearly competencies, including knowledge and behaviors, to conduct examinations and meet patient needs.
  6. Assess physician orders and patient requisitions for completeness, reviewing requisitions, laboratory results, and patient charts to ensure correct procedures and protocols are followed.
  7. Document patient and exam information, storing computerized images on archive media for future reference or retrieval.
  8. Prepare examinations for radiologist interpretation, setting up films properly in the PACS system and accurately inputting data in the RIS to capture charges and other relevant information.
  9. Perform and document weekly quality assurance testing on equipment according to established protocols to maintain high performance.
  10. Work effectively as a team member within the department and with other units to provide quality service through communication, cooperation, and collaboration.
  11. Provide clinical supervision and instruction to students, maintaining understanding of policies, procedures, and the clinical competency process to evaluate student growth and competence.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved radiology program.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
  • CT state license.
  • CPR certification may be required.
  • Maintenance of continuing education credits as required by licensure.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • At least one year of experience as a radiological technologist.
  • Associate's or Applied Science degree in a related field.

Midstate Radiology Associates offers a competitive starting compensation based on qualifications and experience, with a range of $33.00 to $59.00 per hour. The position requires a 1st Shift, Full-Time schedule, Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with on-call and holiday rotation.
