Diagnostic MRI Specialist

Midstate Radiology Associates seeks a skilled Diagnostic MRI Specialist to join our team at MidState Medical Center in Meriden.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operate MRI equipment to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, adhering to established protocols to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment.
  2. Follow established policies and procedures, including those set by the department, hospital, state, ACR, TJC, and OSHA.
  3. Perform diagnostic MRI scanning procedures, selecting correct techniques and producing accurate cross-sectional images to aid radiologists in diagnosis.
  4. Participate in complex invasive MRI exams, assisting radiologists in performing procedures using sterile techniques and producing images for therapeutic and diagnostic services.
  5. Maintain the MRI equipment in good operating order, cleaning and disinfecting after each use, and reporting any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to the supervisor.
  6. Assess physician's orders and patient requisitions for completeness, reviewing requisitions, laboratory results, and patient charts to ensure correct procedures and protocols are followed.
  7. Document patient and exam information, storing computerized images on archive media for future reference or retrieval.
  8. Prepare examination data for radiologist interpretation, accurately identifying and processing images, and setting up films in the PACS system.
  9. Input data in the RIS system, tracking procedures to capture all charges and relevant information.
  10. Perform weekly quality assurance testing on equipment, maintaining high performance according to established protocols.
  11. Work effectively as a team member within the department and with other units, providing quality service through communication, cooperation, and collaboration.
  12. Provide clinical supervision and instruction to students, maintaining policies, procedures, and clinical competency processes to evaluate student growth and competence.
