Position Overview:

The Financial Operations Manager is essential in managing all monetary functions, ensuring precision, adherence to regulations, and effectiveness in our financial workflows. This role necessitates a robust background in accounting, financial reporting, particularly within the federal sector, and leadership capabilities to steer our finance division alongside the Director of Finance.

Primary Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

  • Generate and scrutinize precise financial documents, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Work closely with senior management to create annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
  • Track and report on budget discrepancies, offering suggestions for cost management and optimization.

Financial Operations:

  • Oversee daily financial activities, encompassing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
  • Guarantee efficient processing of financial transactions.

Compliance:

  • Stay informed about relevant financial regulations and ensure the organization adheres to all statutory and regulatory obligations.

Financial Analysis:

  • Perform comprehensive financial analysis, detect trends, and provide insights to facilitate strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in assessing investment opportunities and cost-reduction initiatives.

Audit and Taxation:

  • Coordinate and supervise annual financial audits, collaborating closely with external auditors.
  • Manage tax compliance and reporting, including income tax, sales tax, and other pertinent taxes.

Cash Management:

  • Oversee and manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to fulfill operational requirements and financial commitments.

Team Leadership:

  • Guide and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and ongoing improvement.

Financial Systems:

  • Assess and enhance financial systems and processes, implementing best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership in formulating and executing financial strategies that align with the organization's objectives.

Additional Duties: Other responsibilities assigned within the scope of the specified role.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline; MBA or CPA certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Controller or in a similar financial leadership position, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the federal sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards applicable in the federal sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, such as Deltek.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • At least 3 years of leadership and team management experience.

Requirements:

  • United States Citizenship.
