Position Overview

The Retail Sales Operations Manager plays a crucial role in driving the retail sales division to achieve specified product and service sales objectives while fostering customer satisfaction and loyalty . This role involves the development and execution of strategic retail sales initiatives for Mediabistro, acting as a key collaborator in the broader organizational framework. The aim is to surpass growth and profitability targets by optimizing the retail sales of various media and communication services .

Key Responsibilities
  • Adheres to the Mediabistro Sales Vision by ensuring flawless execution with every customer interaction and initiative.
  • Establishes and implements essential metrics and frameworks to guarantee an optimal in-store customer experience, reinforcing the goal of being a trusted service provider.
  • Evaluates local market competition, including product assortment and pricing trends, and communicates significant discrepancies to management.
  • Collaborates with Product & Marketing teams to propose strategies and objectives for merchandising, advertising, and promotional efforts.
  • Develops staffing plans in accordance with corporate guidelines, seasonal trends, and projected customer demand.
  • Drives sales of Mediabistro products and services while maintaining a focus on operational efficiency to maximize profitability.
  • Oversees customer satisfaction metrics for the retail sales channel and offers insights for enhancement.
  • Ensures that store presentation aligns with ongoing marketing campaigns and meets or exceeds established standards.
  • Conducts weekly sales meetings to ensure alignment among sales associates with corporate strategies.
  • Manages the annual budget for retail and payment centers, including sales and revenue forecasts.
  • Responsible for recruiting, training, and evaluating the performance of the sales team and support staff.
  • Participates in the development of compensation plans and setting performance targets.
  • Establishes clear performance goals for store personnel.
  • Acts as a point of escalation for customer and employee issues.
  • Prepares regular sales reports detailing sales volume, potential growth areas, and client base expansion opportunities.
  • Monitors store inventory to ensure compliance with corporate design strategies.
  • Analyzes shrinkage and implements corrective actions.
  • Collaborates with corporate teams to identify traffic trends to align with inventory needs.
  • Proactively tracks store revenues, operational targets, customer satisfaction, and inventory levels.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for business purposes.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at least 6 years of experience in a related domain. Alternative combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a managerial or leadership capacity.
  • Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in presenting programs and results to various stakeholders.
  • Background in merchandising.
  • Familiarity with implementing process improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of the local market and industry trends is highly desirable.
