Position Overview: The Construction Superintendent at Motz is accountable for overseeing the construction of natural grass fields, drainage systems, irrigation setups, soil layers, and other related components. The specific responsibilities may differ based on project requirements, but typical duties include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate all site construction activities to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of equipment maintenance and repair, with the ability to troubleshoot effectively to minimize downtime.
  • Manage project budgets by carefully reviewing estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking to ensure compliance with financial constraints.
  • Supervise personnel engaged in natural grass construction and subcontractors, providing direction to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Conduct daily meetings and safety briefings to keep the team informed about job hazards and project developments.
  • Work closely with project managers and contractors to identify and resolve any issues that arise during the construction process.
  • Evaluate job specifications and plans to determine the most effective construction methodologies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including as-built drawings, to facilitate project closeout.

Required Skills:

  • Willingness to travel extensively to project sites, with approximately 80% of time spent on overnight assignments.
  • Ability to coordinate actions effectively in relation to team dynamics, showcasing strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Exceptional active listening skills, ensuring full attention to discussions and understanding of key points.
  • Proficient in monitoring and assessing performance to implement improvements and corrective actions as necessary.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, capable of conveying information clearly and effectively.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of building and construction practices, including materials, methods, and tools.
  • A bachelor's degree and/or relevant construction experience is required.
