Position Summary: The Construction Superintendent at Motz is accountable for overseeing the construction of natural grass fields, drainage systems, irrigation components, soil layers, and related field elements. Responsibilities may vary based on project requirements, but typically include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate construction activities on-site to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of equipment maintenance and repair, with the ability to troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
  • Manage project financials by thoroughly reviewing estimates, progress reports, and budget tracking to ensure compliance with financial constraints.
  • Supervise the workforce engaged in natural grass construction and any subcontractors, providing direction to ensure high standards of workmanship.
  • Conduct daily meetings and safety briefings with the team to communicate necessary Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and project updates.
  • Work closely with project managers and contractors to identify and resolve issues that may arise during construction, including procedural challenges and complaints.
  • Evaluate project specifications and plans to determine the most effective construction methods.
  • Maintain precise records of all documentation, including as-built drawings, to facilitate project closeout.

Required Skills:

  • Travel: Willingness to travel to project sites and remain on-site for extended periods, with approximately 80% overnight travel.
  • Coordination: Ability to effectively coordinate actions with others, demonstrating strong collaboration and communication skills to ensure project success.
  • Active Listening: Exhibit exceptional listening skills by fully engaging with others, understanding their points, asking relevant questions, and avoiding interruptions.
  • Monitoring: Ability to closely observe and assess performance, using insights to implement improvements and corrective actions for optimal efficiency.
  • Communication: Demonstrate strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills to convey information clearly and effectively.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Building and Construction Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of construction materials, methods, and tools, demonstrating a solid foundation in industry principles and practices.
  • A bachelor's degree and/or relevant construction experience are essential.
