Role Summary:

The Site Construction Manager is tasked with overseeing and directing the field operations of designated projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget constraints, and quality benchmarks set by Onyx+East. This role involves managing pre-construction and construction phases, fostering relationships with trade partners, and ensuring effective communication with homeowners while maintaining a safe and orderly job site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership on-site and cultivate positive relationships with trade partners to enhance project morale.
  • Review construction plans, specifications, and addendums to identify design flaws, impractical details, and potential code violations.
  • Maintain and update the project schedule daily to ensure alignment with completion targets.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring all work meets Onyx+East standards and addressing any issues with subcontractors promptly.
  • Plan and assess construction procedures, including quality checks, safety protocols, temporary utilities, material staging, and workforce management.
  • Verify that subcontractors fulfill their contractual obligations before commencing work, including insurance and safety program compliance.
  • Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are secured and displayed on-site, along with required safety notices.
  • Coordinate with inspection agencies and implement corrective actions as needed based on their reports.
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs of each project to confirm completion of work and communicate any issues to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with all project stakeholders, including homeowners and public officials.
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings with homeowners, including pre-construction, pre-drywall, orientation, and closing walkthroughs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction or site development.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel).
  • Highly self-sufficient with a strong understanding of construction processes and building regulations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and planning capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance Coverage.

Reporting Structure:

This position reports directly to the Director of Construction.
