As a Construction Site Superintendent for Habitat for Humanity, you will oversee the effective execution of new home and rehabilitation projects from framing to final touches, utilizing both volunteers and subcontractors to accomplish each construction task. You will also be tasked with managing the daily activities of AmeriCorps members.
Position Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily site operations:
  • Maintain an updated task list for crew members and volunteers.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols.
  • Provide necessary orientation information.
  • Lead, instruct, and guide volunteers, ensuring they have a rewarding experience.
  • Stay updated on volunteer schedules and expectations.
  • Continuously develop, maintain, and implement a two-week site schedule.
  • Document daily activities in Buildertrend.
  • Supervise the daily activities of AmeriCorps members, providing them with guidance, training, and regular feedback. Report any issues to the Host Manager promptly.
  • Communicate proactively with your Manager regarding progress, challenges, and scheduling on a daily basis.
  • Anticipate material and subcontractor needs and communicate them to management.
  • Monitor subcontractor progress on a daily basis.

Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • At least 2 years of experience in all aspects of residential construction.
  • Ability to lift 80 pounds independently and work on scaffolding, ladders, and roofs.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting plans and construction details.
  • Familiarity with residential building codes is essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of residential construction practices.
  • Experience with a production homebuilder is advantageous.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
