Position Summary:

The Site Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing the field construction of assigned projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and Onyx+East quality standards. This role encompasses pre-construction and production activities, managing relationships with trade partners, facilitating homeowner communications, and maintaining a safe and clean job site.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide leadership on-site and foster effective relationships with trade partners to promote a positive project environment.
  2. Review construction drawings, specifications, and addendums to identify design deficiencies and potential code violations.
  3. Maintain and update the overall project schedule daily to ensure alignment with completion targets.
  4. Conduct multiple quality checks throughout the project duration, ensuring all work meets Onyx+East standards.
  5. Address issues with subcontractors promptly and oversee their resolution.
  6. Plan and review Onyx+East Construction Standard Operating Procedures, including quality checks, safety practices, and material staging.
  7. Verify that subcontractors meet all contractual obligations before commencing work, including insurance and safety program requirements.
  8. Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained and displayed on-site, along with safety notices.
  9. Coordinate with inspection agencies and implement corrective actions as needed.
  10. Conduct daily site walkthroughs to verify completed work and communicate any issues to subcontractors and suppliers.
  11. Maintain positive relations with all project stakeholders, including homebuyers and public officials.
  12. Schedule and conduct meetings with homebuyers, including pre-construction, pre-drywall, orientation, and closing walkthroughs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction and/or site development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel).
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate self-sufficiency.
  • Strong knowledge of construction procedures and building codes.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and planning skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance coverage.

Reporting Structure:

This position reports to the Director of Construction.
