We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent to join our team at Wurster Construction Company, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing field operations, ensuring projects are completed on-time, and meeting quality control and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate with the Project Manager to schedule project details and ensure timely completion.
- Establish project schedules, schedule subcontractors, and manage timing of subcontractors as determined by the Project Manager.
- Communicate regularly with the Project Manager to monitor progress and address any issues.
- Schedule inspections as needed throughout the construction process.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager and subcontractors to address any changes in the schedule, evaluating impact on pricing and further scheduling.
- Order miscellaneous materials as needed.
- Provide schedule updates as required by project specifications.
- Provide effective on-site supervision of all subcontractors, suppliers, and Wurster Construction Company, Inc. employees assigned to specific projects.
- Review plans and specifications to identify all work to be done by subcontractors, materials needed, and schedules of project phases.
- Ensure subcontractors perform work according to specifications, quality measures, and the schedule.
- Coordinate correct manpower of the subs to ensure they hit the schedule and have enough manpower to complete the job.
- Engage in effective communication activities with all stakeholders of the project.
- Attend all job meetings as requested, including regular and impromptu meetings.
- Ensure safety requirements and practices are followed on the job by all subcontractors and suppliers.
- Inspect the project site daily for recognizable hazards and potential problems.
- Provide all documentation and reporting required, including daily reports and schedule updates.
- Take pictures on a daily basis and submit them as required.
- Sign time and material tickets when appropriate.
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and use drawings, specifications, sketches, plans, forms, and other visual instructions.
- Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Able to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- High detail orientation and accuracy.
- Familiarity with OSHA 30 and other state and federal regulations regarding safety in the commercial construction industry.
