The Finance Operations Manager is pivotal in fostering a successful environment by evaluating and reporting on financial performance, streamlining processes, comprehending the insurance sector, and overseeing office operations while encouraging team engagement and maintaining favorable profit margins.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Serve as a financial partner to the profit center and local management, addressing matters related to finance, operations, technology, and team resources.

Compile and scrutinize financial data to prepare system entries that document business transactions.

Analyze financial metrics including income, expenses, earnings, assets, liabilities, and capital, and generate balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports to summarize the company's financial standing based on historical, current, and anticipated operations.

Prepare, present, and report financial information to local, regional, and corporate leaders in alignment with the company's objectives and procedures.

Establish standardized procedures and oversee practices to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and corporate policies, including Sarbanes-Oxley.

Direct and oversee the operational activities of the office in accordance with established policies, procedures, and objectives.

Manage payroll transactions and employment responsibilities in line with established policies and local, state, and federal laws.

Assess, evaluate, and inventory real estate and equipment, documenting necessary details in accordance with company guidelines.

Identify trends and needs in business operations to uncover potential cost-saving opportunities.

Facilitate collaboration between finance and client service teams to reduce errors and process inefficiencies impacting financial outcomes.

Review, reconcile, and resolve discrepancies in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.

Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers, preparing reports to substantiate individual transactions.

Supervise, mentor, and develop team capabilities to enhance departmental efficiency through regular evaluations of team skills and financial and technological knowledge.

Continuously assess short-term and long-term recruitment needs and strategies to retain top talent.

Develop an onboarding program for new team members to ensure successful integration into the profit center and a clear understanding of established processes and procedures.

Accountable for achieving budgeted operating margins for the department.

Build a network of peers across the enterprise; share best practices.

Encourage teamwork, knowledge sharing, and a positive atmosphere within the department and office.

Commit to meeting or exceeding internal and external performance standards.

Engage in training opportunities to stay informed on industry developments, new product offerings, legislation, coverages, and technology, including professional development and continuing education required for valid licensing.

Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:
Bachelor's degree
7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, and/or auditing
Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial modeling

Preferred:
CPA and/or MBA
5+ years of experience in a leadership capacity.
