Job Summary

As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards, providing technical accounting guidance, and supporting the company's financial reporting process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Accounting Guidance: Provide expert technical accounting guidance and support for complex transactions and new business initiatives, including debt/equity financing, customer contracts, business combinations, and investment accounting.
  • Accounting Memo Writing: Write technical accounting memos for complex transactions, including ASC 842, ASC 360, ASC 606, ASC 805, ASC 470, ASC 718, ASC 815, and ASC 323.
  • Accounting Standards Research: Research, interpret, and implement accounting standards and regulations (GAAP, IFRS).
  • Accounting Policy Development: Develop, write, and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
  • Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with other departments, such as Revenue, FP&A, Tax, and Legal, to provide accounting expertise and support.
  • External Auditor Liaison: Serve as a liaison and work with external auditors on technical accounting matters.
  • Complex Transaction Valuations: Work with external valuation specialists to ensure complex transaction valuations are completed on a timely basis.
  • Culture and Team Leadership: Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the accounting and finance team.
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop team members, providing training and development opportunities.
  • Financial Reporting: Monitor the issuance of new FASB pronouncements, advise management of trends and changes in reporting requirements, and recommend and implement the best approach for any changes in reporting.
  • Ad Hoc Accounting Research: Manage and perform ad hoc accounting research that supports accounting consultations for business transactions.
  • M&A Due Diligence: Lead M&A due diligence and prepare work papers and memos according to ASC 805.
  • Internal Control and SOX Compliance: Work with the internal team to implement accounting policies and ensure compliance with internal control and SOX.
  • Ad Hoc Accounting Support: Assist other teams with ad hoc accounting and reporting needs.
Requirements
  • Education: A master's or bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA is required.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in leading technical accounting, including public accounting (Big Four experience preferred).
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Research and Interpretation: Proven ability to research and interpret complex accounting issues.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • ERP and Financial Reporting Tools: Experience with ERP systems such as Netsuite and financial reporting tools.
  • International Accounting Standards: Experience with IFRS and international accounting standards.
  • Technology or Software Company Experience: Prior experience in a technology or software company.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills and the ability to drive initiatives to completion.
Compensation and Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $165,000-$185,000. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
