Role Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Professional Development Educator plays a crucial role in enhancing nursing practice and ensuring high-quality patient care through the delivery of evidence-based educational programs tailored for nursing and clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in the design, coordination, and evaluation of onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and healthcare personnel.
  • Facilitate orientation programs aimed at improving employee retention.
  • Work with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to refine programs based on feedback and evaluations.
  • Assist in developing and managing competency assessments.
  • Create educational activities that address specific practice gaps for various healthcare personnel.
  • Plan and deliver engaging educational content that promotes active learning.
  • Advocate for evidence-based practices to continuously enhance nursing practices.
  • Encourage and participate in research and quality improvement initiatives in patient care settings.
  • Develop strategies to foster lifelong learning among staff.
  • Utilize a novice-to-expert framework to identify opportunities for skill enhancement.

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related clinical field is required.
  • A Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute care environment is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in clinical education is preferred.
  • Current RN licensure in the state of practice or an active compact state license is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
