Position Overview

World Learning is in search of a Program Coordinator for the Youth Leadership Exchange Initiative. This role involves guiding and overseeing high school participants from Bolivia and Peru during a structured exchange program.

The primary objective of this initiative is to facilitate a leadership exchange experience for Bolivian and Peruvian high school students alongside their adult mentors. Supported by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy, this program aims to enhance cross-cultural understanding, promote leadership skills, and instill a sense of civic responsibility.

Focus Area: Multicultural Engagement and Civic Responsibility

Program Structure: Participants will engage in various activities, including orientation and hosting experiences, fostering cultural exchange and learning.

Candidate Requirements: Applicants must have prior experience as leaders in World Learning programs or similar initiatives. A background in Spanish language and regional culture is highly valued.

Interested candidates should prepare their resumes for submission. The selection process is competitive, and while only one position is available, additional opportunities may arise in the future.

Key Responsibilities

Educational Facilitation
  • Conduct workshops on diverse topics, including arts and leadership;
  • Facilitate discussions and group activities;
  • Lead team-building exercises;
  • Engage in large-group simulations and role-plays;
  • Deliver presentations confidently to large audiences;
  • Prepare educational content efficiently;
  • Adapt program components based on participant interests;
  • Oversee participant-led initiatives.
Participant Support
  • Monitor participant needs and group dynamics;
  • Address health concerns and coordinate medical assistance;
  • Encourage positive relationships among participants;
  • Ensure a supportive living environment;
  • Conduct regular checks to maintain program standards;
  • Assist in resolving conflicts among participants;
  • Facilitate timely participation in scheduled activities;
  • Travel with participants as needed.
Administrative Duties
  • Attend all scheduled program components;
  • Participate in staff meetings;
  • Manage logistical tasks, including supply runs;
  • Maintain accurate financial records;
  • Coordinate transportation for participants;
  • Document program activities through photography;
  • Complete necessary reports and evaluations;
  • Provide updates to the program team.
