As the Financial Executive Officer at United Insurance, you will play a pivotal role in steering the financial strategy and operations of the organization. Your leadership will guide the accounting team and ensure the integrity of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Leading and supervising the Accounting department, managing accounts payable and receivable, as well as overseeing budget preparation and audit activities.
- Collaborating with department leaders to assess performance and provide strategic recommendations.
- Directing the creation of comprehensive financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and reports for shareholders and regulatory agencies.
- Evaluating sales and profit forecasts against actual results and adjusting future projections and budgets as necessary.
- Reviewing and enhancing the planning process to optimize current methodologies.
- Conducting operational analyses to pinpoint areas for potential restructuring or resource reallocation.
- Partnering with the President and executive team to align on strategic planning and priority setting.
- Investigating long-term economic trends to forecast their influence on sales growth and market share.
- Identifying and facilitating opportunities for business expansion or acquisitions.
- Managing fund investments and collaborating with investment bankers to secure additional capital for growth initiatives.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- A Master's degree and/or CPA certification is preferred.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in financial management is essential.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and supervisory experience.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication abilities.
- Capacity to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word, along with experience in Accounting software.
- Familiarity with EPIC software is advantageous.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is characterized by a low to moderate noise level, and reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. The role may require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds and involves regular communication and use of hands for various tasks.
