Job Summary

The President and CEO of Financial Operations will serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for the United Way of Southern Maine, actively engaging with the Maine community.

This role requires a senior-level executive with a proven track record of developing financial resources, ensuring organizational success, and identifying and responding to community priorities in human needs.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience building deep and meaningful relationships with key stakeholders, championing a community impact perspective, and positioning the organization for the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective financial strategies to drive organizational growth and success
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including corporate executives, labor representatives, and government officials
  • Provide leadership in developing financial resources, ensuring organizational success, and identifying and responding to community priorities in human needs
  • Cultivate and develop cooperative relationships among service providers, funding sources, planning bodies, and community groups
  • Establish and build relationships with top leaders in the community, including those representing the highest levels in business, government, and non-profit sectors

Requirements

  • Senior-level executive with a proven track record of developing financial resources and ensuring organizational success
  • Significant experience building deep and meaningful relationships with key stakeholders
  • Proven community leadership in developing programs, partner relationships, and building teams and coalitions
  • Experience in utilizing data, analytics, and metrics to understand emerging trends and implement innovative strategies

Work Environment

The President and CEO will work in a normal office environment, with regular use of computer keyboards and occasional travel to meetings and attendance at early morning or evening meetings.
