Timbrook Automotive Inc, a leading privately-owned dealership group in rural Western Maryland, is seeking an experienced and energetic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team.

About the Role

The CFO will oversee all company accounting functions and related employees, interact and strategize with the executive leadership team, and report directly to the CEO. Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing cash and financing requirements for long-range business development
  • Producing yearly financial objectives in alignment with the company's plan for growth and expansion
  • Preparing and submitting timely and accurate monthly financial statements and internal comparison reports
  • Monitoring and managing cash, reconciling bank accounts, and reviewing general ledger schedules
  • Establishing and maintaining scheduled entries and accruals, ensuring standardization of accounting procedures across all dealerships
  • Reviewing accounting policies and practices to affirm compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Serving as the primary financial contact with the company's legal counsel, independent CPA firm, auditors, and financial institutions
  • Reviewing, negotiating, and maintaining records on all company purchases, contracts, and insurance coverages
  • Administering and overseeing stockholder tax payments and drawings
  • Assisting General Managers at each location in preparing quarterly and annual projections and forecasts
  • Overseeing Office Managers to ensure efficient management of cash, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, as well as the timely and accurate preparation and submission of financial statements
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience (10+ years) as CFO, finance officer, or relevant role
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
  • Highly proficient at Microsoft Excel
  • Exceptional relational, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong financial insight and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of driving financial performance and operational excellence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and best practices
