Job Title: Power Market Senior Manager

ICF is seeking a highly skilled Power Market Senior Manager to join our team and contribute to our growing practice in US wholesale power markets. As a senior leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of analysts to develop and defend power price forecasts, power plant proformas, and financial projections using grid software models.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a dedicated team of analysts to perform detailed grid modeling and long-term forecasting efforts for market prices, plant/grid operations, and plant economics.
  • Manage multiple projects with overlapping timelines while ensuring excellent quality, consistency, and client support.
  • Review and provide direct feedback to the team on quantitative modeling approaches and results.
  • Communicate effectively with a diverse client base as a subject-matter expert in US wholesale power markets.
  • Grow ICF's business by leading interactions with potential clients and developing proposals.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff as well as collaborate with ICF senior management on key business decisions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, economics, or a related quantitative-focused field.
  • 8+ years of work experience in North American electric power sector, including market analysis and forecasting.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in market modeling approaches and tools, power flow modeling tools, and advanced experience with consulting, project planning, transmission planning, transmission & distribution, power flow analysis, data analytics, strategic analysis, and GIS modeling.
Preferred Skills:
  • Master's degree in any of the aforementioned fields or closely related areas.
  • Consulting background preferred.
  • Knowledge of one of the following: ERCOT, PJM, ISONE, NYISO, MISO, SPP, CAISO, WECC, and SERC.
  • Advanced MS Office capabilities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Business development and managerial experience.
  • Experience independently conducting and supervising technical analysis.
  • Experience with financial analysis, asset valuation, or power plant development a plus.
  • Experience managing a team of analysts.
  • Additional experience as a developer preferred.
