SEWS—El Paso Customer Service Center (Eastside). This position is a Hybrid role, allowing for a combination of in-office and remote work.

Associates are expected to work at least two days in the office each week, while also enjoying the flexibility to work off-site.


Basic Purpose:


Oversee and enhance the performance of the Material Control Department members to ensure consistency in customer and supplier follow-ups, aiming to eliminate material shortages, backorders, and reduce the number of critical material items. Enhance communication with suppliers regarding critical materials and minimize expedited freight costs. Assess departmental performance expenses to ensure monthly budget compliance. Strive to achieve all departmental goals and objectives. Maintain accurate data in production planning systems and related assets. Focus on improving workplace efficiency, reducing lead times, and lowering operating costs.

Duties and Responsibilities:


Supervise material control planners and customer service representatives, ensuring proper follow-up to minimize line downtime costs. Evaluate current processes and implement cost reduction strategies.
Establish effective measures to reduce the number of materials with low inventory days.

Assess supplier backorder performance and engage in effective follow-ups and negotiations with suppliers to enhance this metric.

Reinforce the significance of backorder control to planners.
Achieve the Indirect Expense Budget.

Monitor indirect salary expenses, eliminate overtime premiums, and maintain headcount within budget by fostering an efficient Material Control Department organization.

Evaluate transportation costs, minimize expedited freight expenses, and meet the expedite budget monthly.
Coach, motivate, and inspire direct reports to achieve Material Control objectives. Assess the performance of all direct reports, provide constructive feedback, and address performance issues as necessary. Cultivate a high-efficiency working culture.
Maintain performance evaluation records for material control planners and customer service representatives.

Allocate and align resources to respond to strategic or cultural shifts.

Build a High-Performance Culture: Develop an organizational culture that fosters ongoing excellence and effective business growth while upholding the highest integrity.


Cultivate a Customer-Focused Culture:

Effectively integrate internal and external customer perspectives into business activities while fostering an environment of collaborative problem-solving to ensure customer satisfaction.


Control/Reduce Operating Costs:
Identify key cost drivers and seize opportunities to reduce expenses.

Position Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree – Preferably in Business or a related field.
Experience: 8-10 years of progressive experience, including 2-4 years in a supervisory role. Experience in the automotive supply sector is highly preferred.
Proficiency in major software applications (Microsoft Office); Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Strong interaction with all customers;

Bilingual:
English and Spanish
