Position Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the daily oversight of personnel, processes, and tools essential for effective warehousing operations. This role involves initiating and facilitating business and process enhancements to meet organizational objectives while keeping leadership updated on progress toward schedules and overall goals.

  • Oversee the crossdock operations, including receiving, conducting inventory audits for customs compliance, and shipping materials to the production facility.
  • Build and sustain an efficient team through the selection, training, development, and motivation of staff. Conduct performance reviews in collaboration with the Materials Manager and enforce disciplinary actions in line with company policies.
  • Regularly monitor and audit all procedures and controls, maintaining a proactive approach to address unforeseen challenges such as work stoppages, material shortages, and shifting priorities.
  • Evaluate productivity and quality standards for all warehouse personnel, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
  • Drive and implement business and process improvements aligned with organizational goals.
  • Analyze departmental workload and scheduling needs to create effective execution plans, including staffing and resource allocation.
  • Communicate objectives, status updates, and other relevant issues through regular team meetings and shift transitions.
  • Support and implement a performance management system that identifies and achieves set goals.
  • Manage resources to uphold safety, quality, delivery, engagement, and cost efficiency.
  • Foster and maintain positive employee relations.
  • Mentor and develop entry-level staff, ensuring their training remains current.
  • Optimize warehouse resource utilization while meeting or exceeding customer satisfaction expectations.
  • Safeguard company resources and interests ethically.
  • Establish and uphold safety protocols to promote a clean and safe working environment.
  • Propose and implement continuous improvement, digitalization, and automation initiatives.
  • Ensure the security of the warehouse by enforcing proper access protocols.
  • Maintain facility equipment and grounds in optimal condition.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Knowledge and Certification:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of leadership experience, or an Associate's degree plus 5 or more years of leadership experience.

Skills and Abilities:

Required:

  • Experience in warehouse and distribution operations.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies and lean logistics practices (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with SAP is preferred.
  • Understanding of project management principles.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to deliver presentations to both operational staff and executives.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of operations with proven managerial skills in organization, analysis, planning, and communication.
  • Ability to motivate and lead unskilled and semi-skilled workforce effectively.
