Key Responsibilities:
- The Construction Materials Testing Specialist will conduct quality assurance assessments on various materials including soil, concrete, asphalt, grout, and mortar.
- This role may involve preparing and testing concrete samples in accordance with industry standards, maintaining detailed records of daily activities, tracking travel time between sites, and reviewing daily work schedules. The ability to lift at least 50 pounds is essential.
- There may be instances where the technician is the sole materials testing representative on a project.
- Oversight and authorization of work will be provided by a licensed professional engineer, necessitating effective communication with contractors and construction supervisors. The ability to work autonomously without direct supervision is crucial.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
- This is an entry-level role, welcoming candidates with minimal experience but a strong willingness to learn and undergo training.
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0 to 5 years of experience in construction materials testing
- Possession or ability to obtain certifications: Level 1A, Level 1B, SB101, SB102
- Possession or ability to obtain ACI Concrete Field/Strength Testing Technician certification
- Proficient in using MS Outlook
- Proficient in using MS Word
- Willingness to travel up to 10% within the designated area, including overnight stays
- Valid driver's license
