Position Overview

RIG Consulting Inc. is actively looking for skilled Transportation Construction Inspectors (TCI) to support projects in the District 5 area.

The compensation for this role may vary between $20.00 and $35.00 per hour, contingent upon the candidate's qualifications, educational background, and certifications. RIG provides a variety of additional benefits, including a Night Safety Incentive and a Long Distance Drive Incentive that can enhance your earnings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting daily assessments to ensure the use of proper materials and construction techniques.
  • Reviewing inspection drawings.
  • Documenting daily operations and activities.
  • Maintaining project documentation and records.

Essential Duties:

  • Traveling across diverse terrains.
  • Communicating effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Utilizing electronic devices and various software systems for information management.
  • Safely navigating around active traffic and construction equipment.
  • Responding promptly to hazard alerts, including signs and alarms.
  • Using and maintaining required personal protective equipment.
  • Performing physical tasks such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, crawling, twisting, and climbing; lifting and carrying loads up to 50 pounds.
  • Enduring periods of strenuous activity.
  • Traveling to various inspection locations.
  • Withstanding exposure to noise, outdoor conditions, adverse weather, and various environmental factors within Safety Data Sheet (SDS) limits.
  • Working extended hours beyond the standard eight-hour shift as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike, or related transportation construction is required.
  • A GED or high school diploma is mandatory.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.

Preferred Certifications:

  • NECEPT certifications in bituminous and concrete.
  • ACI certification.
  • NICET Level 2 or higher in Highway Construction.
  • CDS NextGen certification.
  • KAHUA certification.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
