Position Overview

RIG Consulting Inc. is actively looking for skilled Transportation Construction Inspectors (TCI) to oversee projects in the District 5 area, which includes various counties.

The compensation for this role ranges from $20.00 to $35.00 per hour, based on the applicant's qualifications, education, and certifications. Additional incentives are available, including a Night Safety Incentive and a Long Distance Drive Incentive, which can enhance overall earnings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting daily assessments to ensure compliance with material and construction standards.
  • Reviewing inspection drawings for accuracy and completeness.
  • Documenting daily activities and maintaining comprehensive project records.
  • Organizing and managing project documentation and files.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Traveling across diverse terrains for site inspections.
  • Communicating effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Utilizing electronic devices and various software for data input and retrieval.
  • Safely navigating around active traffic and construction equipment.
  • Responding promptly to hazard warnings and safety alerts.
  • Using and maintaining required personal protective equipment.
  • Performing physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and enduring strenuous activities.
  • Traveling to various inspection locations as needed.
  • Adapting to environmental conditions, including noise and weather variations.
  • Working extended hours during peak seasons and being available for on-call duties.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in transportation construction, preferably with PennDOT or the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required; a degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.

Preferred Certifications:

  • NECEPT certifications in bituminous and concrete.
  • ACI certification.
  • NICET Level 2 or higher in Highway Construction.
  • CDS NextGen certification.
  • KAHUA certification.
  • Applicants should provide detailed work histories, including certification numbers and expiration dates.
