RIG Consulting Inc. is actively looking for skilled Transportation Construction Inspectors (TCI) to support projects in the District 5 area, which includes Schuylkill, Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, and Northampton counties.
The compensation for this role ranges from $20.00 to $35.00 per hour, based on the candidate's qualifications, educational background, and certifications. In addition, RIG provides a variety of benefits, including a Night Safety Incentive and a Long Distance Drive Incentive that can enhance your earnings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting daily assessments to ensure compliance with material and construction standards.
- Reviewing inspection drawings for accuracy and completeness.
- Documenting daily activities and maintaining accurate project records.
- Organizing and preserving project documentation and files.
Essential Duties:
- Traveling across diverse terrains for site inspections.
- Communicating effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Utilizing electronic devices and various software systems for data input and retrieval.
- Safely navigating around active traffic and construction equipment.
- Responding promptly to hazard warnings, including signs and alarms.
- Using and maintaining required personal protective equipment.
- Performing physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and enduring extended periods of exertion.
- Traveling to various inspection locations as needed.
- Adapting to outdoor conditions, including noise, weather variations, and exposure to various environmental factors.
- Working beyond standard hours when necessary, especially during peak seasons.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years of experience in transportation construction, preferably with PennDOT or the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
- A high school diploma or GED is required; a degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.
Preferred Certifications:
- NECEPT certifications in bituminous and concrete.
- ACI certification.
- NICET Level 2 or higher in Highway Construction.
- CDS NextGen certification.
- KAHUA certification.
