About the Role

We are currently seeking a Transportation Quality Assurance Inspector to join our team on PennDOT's Major Bridge Initiative in the Susquehanna County area. The successful candidate will apply standard quality assurance inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety, and conformance to plans, specifications, and codes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify and document compliance with contract requirements and PennDOT Construction standards.
  • Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Perform verification of conformance to standards for testing on concrete, soils, and other materials.
  • Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.
  • Record field notes, other documentation, computations, and prepares reports.
  • Gather, review, and maintain project records (using PennDOT ECMS and other documentation systems).
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-4 years of Construction Inspection Experience (Transportation preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Client Requested certifications (required to meet TCI-3 qualifications), including:
  • NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction.
  • NECEPT-Bituminous Field Technician.
  • PennDOT Concrete Field Technician (ACI Concrete Field Technician is prerequisite).
  • CDS NeXtGen and/or ECMS Wave 5.
Working Conditions

The work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
