Job Overview

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the organization and daily functions related to warehouse operations. This role involves providing guidance to team members in accordance with established protocols and practices. The effectiveness of work is evaluated based on sound judgment, quality, and efficiency. The supervisor interprets and implements policies that impact warehouse personnel and monitors daily operations, offering assistance or direction as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, train, and foster continuous improvement among warehouse staff and teams.
  • Prepare and distribute essential reports, including inventory levels, dead stock, product age, and consumption rates.
  • Ensure the quality and quantity of stored goods meet company standards.
  • Conduct regular physical audits of inventory and commodities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and its surroundings.
  • Evaluate space availability and develop stacking/storage strategies prior to the arrival of goods.
  • Collaborate closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure timely and efficient receipt and inventory of materials.
  • Proactively communicate with the Warehouse Manager and Production Manager regarding material issues that may affect shipping schedules.
  • Establish appropriate stock levels to fulfill customer service requirements and adhere to company policies.
  • Oversee transactions related to material availability and accuracy of open orders.
  • Work alongside the Quality Engineer to uphold compliance with safety, operational, and regulatory standards, including Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management (EMS), and Occupational Health & Safety Association (OHSA).
  • Accountable for quality in relation to job responsibilities and empowered to address quality issues at any level.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED; minimum of three years of experience in assembly and manufacturing operations, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Logistics principles.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cycle counting methods and processes.
  • Skilled in analyzing and designing supply chain solutions with a strong focus on information systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, and SAP.
  • Regular participation in Safety Committee meetings to review the performance of QMS, EMS, and OHSA, ensuring processes remain effective and sustainable.
  • Continuous evaluation of improvement opportunities and necessary changes to management systems.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, use of hands for operating tools and controls, reaching with arms, and effective communication.
  • Occasional walking, sitting, and the need to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Capability to work in a non-climate controlled warehouse environment.
