About the job Payroll Manager
The Payroll Manager at JDM Recruiters oversees the accurate administration and timely processing of payroll. This includes paying employees via direct deposit and checks, processing special check requirements, withholding taxes and deductions, and depositing funds with the appropriate agency. The Payroll Manager also makes employer contributions, handles disability payments, and files required state and federal tax forms and account reconciliations.
Key responsibilities include ensuring proper and timely quarterly and annual tax filings, as well as maintaining a thorough knowledge of Federal and State regulations pertaining to payroll processing.
Requirements for this role include a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Operations Management, Marketing, Public Health, Accounting / Finance or a related field. A minimum of 10 years related experience, including payroll accounting background, is also required. Health care/union experience is preferred, as is a strong knowledge of several different pay structures, benefits plans, and funding mechanisms for salaries.
This role also requires a thorough understanding of employment and labor laws as related to payroll processing, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act and Wage-Hour Law. The Payroll Manager must be able to analyze information or procedures, define problems or objectives, and formulate logical and objective conclusions. Additionally, they must be able to assess a wide spectrum of organizational needs and job-related demands, establish priorities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred qualifications include extensive knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as experience with ADP and Kronos (UKG) systems. The Payroll Manager must also be willing to travel occasionally and demonstrate reliability and professionalism, while adhering to a standard of complete confidentiality.
