Job Overview

Officengine, Inc. is seeking an experienced and intellectually curious HR Manager - Payroll & Benefits to support the payroll, benefits, and HR operations of our growing portfolio of clients. This role provides a significant opportunity to make an impact in shaping our clients' operations and developing/refining a package of services for future clients.

As a small team with a diverse client base, opportunities for learning and skills development present themselves daily. The ideal candidate will be a master communicator, able to interact with clients and employees on a cadence that defines their needs and pain points, recommending services as their business grows.

We're eager to hear from team players who roll up their sleeves to get the job done. Who have experience mentoring and coaching a team. Someone kind, filled with empathy, honesty, and passion for their work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Become an expert in processing payroll using Rippling, Gusto, and ADP.
  • Interact with clients on a cadence that defines their needs and pain points, recommending services as their business grows.
  • Interact with our client's employees, answering their questions, explaining tax forms, pay stubs, and guiding them through performing necessary actions within the HRIS/payroll system.
  • Oversee project implementations involving HR-related software/tools.
  • In time, hire, inspire, and coach a team of HR professionals.
  • Work closely with partners to extract the best outcomes for Officengine and our clients.
  • Become a subject-matter expert on all things People operations, payroll, benefits, wellness, and matters related to employee engagement.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Expert communicator (verbal/non-verbal & written) required.
  • Experience teaching, motivating, training, or coaching a team.
  • Required values/skills: empathy, honesty, curiosity, kindness, integrity, and passion/pride in your work.
  • Must be a team player and self-motivated.
  • MS Office/Google Workspace experience.
  • BS/BA degree required.
