The Practice Supervisor plays a pivotal role in the success of team operations, collaborating closely with the Practice Manager. Responsibilities include retention-focused hiring, effective execution of office initiatives and objectives, and overseeing specific practice duties such as optimizing provider schedules, implementing best practices for workflow standardization, and assisting the Practice Manager in achieving financial and budgetary goals. Additionally, the supervisor ensures that staff receive the necessary training, resources, and support to reach their full potential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the practice to maintain a seamless office workflow, continuously seeking efficiency improvements and waste reduction.
  • Manage staffing levels for both staff and providers.
  • Assist with front and back office tasks as required (within the scope of practice).
  • Organize monthly staff meeting agendas and lead discussions on various topics.
  • Support the Practice Manager in staff performance management, including decisions regarding merit increases, hiring, promotions, corrective actions, and terminations, as well as participating in the annual performance review process.
  • Ensure adherence to MPG processes across all locations, including AIDET and patient phone surveys.
  • Promote a superior patient experience by leading through example.

Supervisory Duties

This position includes supervisory responsibilities under the guidance of the Practice Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Preferred: Associate's Degree and/or Clinical Certification (LPN, CMA, RMA). Clinical Certification must remain current to maintain the position.
  • 3-5 years of direct healthcare experience in a similar capacity is preferred.

Essential Skills and Competencies

Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedural manuals. Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence. Capable of effectively communicating with patients, staff, providers, and other organizational employees.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Capable of addressing problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.

Technical Skills: Proficient in EMR systems and software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with Athena is preferred.

While executing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands for handling or feeling, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, talk, hear, and smell. The employee may occasionally need to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
