The Urology Nursing Team Leader plays a pivotal role in the management and coordination of nursing care within the unit.

Key Responsibilities:

The Team Leader serves as both a formal and informal leader within the nursing unit.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with management to effectively plan and coordinate daily operations.
  • Delegating patient care based on skill level, experience, and patient needs.
  • Providing leadership through staff development, teaching, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient interactions and education.
  • Supporting professional nursing practices across various settings to meet patient and family needs.

The Team Leader operates within the Mayo Nursing Care Model, ensuring accountability for all phases of nursing care.


Qualifications:

Applicants should possess the following qualifications:
  • A degree from an accredited baccalaureate nursing program.
  • Preferred experience of at least one year in a relevant nursing care setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in both team and independent environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing situations in the workplace.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, with experience in electronic medical records preferred.

Licensure and Certification:

Current RN licensure in Florida is required, along with Basic Life Support certification upon hire. Additional specialty certifications may be necessary based on the specific work area.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

On-call responsibilities may be required outside of standard hours.
