Job Overview

Position Summary:

This role is situated within the Program Executive Office for Attack Submarines (PEO SSN), specifically in the VIRGINIA Class Program Office, PMS 450.

  • Direct a multidisciplinary team composed of Military, Civilian, and Contractor personnel, totaling 150 Full-Time Equivalents (FTE).
  • Oversee a program budget amounting to $265 million across two submarine platforms.
  • Guarantee the timely execution of all program tasks, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and the overarching mission of the command.
  • Act as the principal Systems Integration and Test lead, managing risk evaluation, production, and quality assurance processes.
  • Formulate and execute strategies to monitor and assess program risks, production outputs, and quality assurance metrics.
  • Address conflicts related to system specifications, design, development, delivery, components, and procedures.
  • Ensure that strategies for agency-wide policies are crafted to mitigate identified risks and diminish vulnerabilities in ongoing operations.
  • Design and conduct local training sessions, policy plans, and risk management strategies.
  • Examine and confirm compliance of specialized program documentation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established standards.
  • Exhibit advanced communication skills, both verbal and written, engaging with all levels of the Submarine manufacturing enterprise.
  • Collaborate with assessable unit managers and representatives across administrative, engineering, technical, and certification domains.
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators and trends, ensuring that issues are resolved through corrective action plans.
  • Supervise testing and certification processes for payload systems, ensuring all systems conform to required specifications and standards.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • An active DoD Secret security clearance; Top-Secret security clearance is preferred.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience, ideally ten to fifteen years, in Navy acquisitions and submarine electronic systems, demonstrating a proven track record in program management and leadership roles.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively in both team settings and independently, often under tight deadlines.
  • Experience within the Navy, particularly in Team Submarine or on-board submarines, is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Educational Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field (Physics, Chemistry, etc.).
  • A Master's degree is preferred. Degree and experience may be adjusted based on specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
