Position Title: Submarine Combat System Developer

Organization: Department of The Navy

Role Overview: In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the design and implementation of the AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat System across a variety of submarine classes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a collaborative team comprising both industry experts and government personnel to advance the development of AN/BYG-1 subsystems.
  • Oversee the coordination of software deliveries and testing in conjunction with other Participating Acquisition Resource Managers.
  • Ensure that software production timelines are synchronized with Fleet Modernization schedules.
  • Make critical decisions and formulate policies to bolster program leadership.
  • Plan, develop, assess, and execute technical initiatives effectively.
  • Delegate work assignments, establish priorities, and guarantee the timely completion of tasks.
  • Assess employee performance and propose incentives accordingly.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to address complex challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must meet federal employment suitability criteria.
  • Participation in the direct deposit pay program is required.
  • Must obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Complete ethics orientation and submit necessary reports.
  • Certification in Acquisition Functional Area is mandatory.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening is required.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations may be necessary.

Experience Requirements:

Your application must demonstrate substantial experience in professional engineering related to combat or weapon systems for submarines or surface vessels. Additionally, candidates must meet educational qualifications as outlined by the Office of Personnel Management.
