About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing the next generation of spacecraft systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting, Planning, and Executing Mechanical and Thermal Tests
  • CAD Design of Spacecraft Mechanical Components, Test Hardware, and Ground Support Equipment
  • Post-processing Test Data and Comparing Results to Analytical Predictions
  • Developing Requirements and Managing Procurements for Flight and Test Hardware
  • Contributing to a Dynamic Group Culture through Collaborative Teams and Activities
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Relevant Technical Degree
  • Experience in PTC Creo (or Equivalent CAD System)
  • Hands-on Experience Working with Hardware
  • US Citizenship Status Required for Access to APL's Facilities and Networks
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Equivalent
  • Experience Leading Technical Projects
