Position Overview:
We are in search of a Power Systems Engineer to assist in the development of power electronics hardware tailored for space missions. Your work will support groundbreaking projects such as Dragonfly and IMAP.
Key Responsibilities:
Your main duties will include:
- Designing, analyzing, and testing power electronics for space applications.
- Defining and developing ground support equipment for hardware verification.
- Conducting technical trade studies to inform design decisions.
- Establishing and verifying hardware requirements.
- Creating fabrication drawings and aiding in production processes.
- Characterizing the performance of your designs.
- Documenting hardware verification activities.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in high-reliability power electronics hardware development.
- Proficiency in the design, production, and testing of power electronics.
- Experience with circuit simulation, worst-case analysis, and derating analysis.
- Capability to develop and execute test procedures.
- The ability to obtain a Secret level security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Exceptional candidates will have:
- A Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in developing electronics hardware for spacecraft.
- Leadership experience in electrical hardware development teams.
- Expertise in motor control electronics and algorithms.
- Familiarity with radiation-tolerant and space-qualified components.
- Experience in designing power magnetics.
- Proficiency with Mentor Graphics Expedition.
