Position Overview:
We are in search of a Power Systems Engineer to assist in the development of power electronics hardware tailored for space missions. Your work will support groundbreaking projects such as Dragonfly and IMAP.

Key Responsibilities:
Your main duties will include:

  • Designing, analyzing, and testing power electronics for space applications.
  • Defining and developing ground support equipment for hardware verification.
  • Conducting technical trade studies to inform design decisions.
  • Establishing and verifying hardware requirements.
  • Creating fabrication drawings and aiding in production processes.
  • Characterizing the performance of your designs.
  • Documenting hardware verification activities.

Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in high-reliability power electronics hardware development.
  • Proficiency in the design, production, and testing of power electronics.
  • Experience with circuit simulation, worst-case analysis, and derating analysis.
  • Capability to develop and execute test procedures.
  • The ability to obtain a Secret level security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
Exceptional candidates will have:

  • A Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in developing electronics hardware for spacecraft.
  • Leadership experience in electrical hardware development teams.
  • Expertise in motor control electronics and algorithms.
  • Familiarity with radiation-tolerant and space-qualified components.
  • Experience in designing power magnetics.
  • Proficiency with Mentor Graphics Expedition.
