Position Overview

Peraton is seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineer to contribute to our Cyber Intelligence team. The selected candidate will be responsible for a variety of critical tasks, including but not limited to the following:
  • Design and implement comprehensive Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions.
  • Create operational, technical standards, and system/service views for architectures in accordance with applicable DoDAF standards.
  • Conduct thorough end-to-end system trade analyses to enhance system operations throughout its lifecycle, ensuring a balanced approach to non-functional performance metrics.
  • Utilize validated models, simulations, and prototypes to minimize risks and lower development costs.
  • Oversee the ongoing configuration management of both hardware and software components, ensuring effective documentation throughout the system's lifecycle.
  • Develop system design alternatives that take into account lifecycle costs, reusability, complexity, risk factors, and potential for expansion.
  • Formulate alternative strategies, workarounds, and fallback options for identified risks, while monitoring and reassessing these risks at key milestones using earned value management (EVM) data.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging agency, national, and international standards relevant to system development, ensuring adherence to suitable standards for consistency and interoperability.
  • Participate in Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) efforts, recommending preferred solutions based on reasonableness, validity of assumptions, technological constraints, environmental considerations, and lifecycle costs.
  • Provide technical leadership in the development, engineering, integration, and testing of complex hardware/software systems, including requirements analysis, conducting systems requirements reviews, and developing operational concepts and interface standards.
  • Clearly define interfaces regarding origination, destination, stimulus, and data characteristics for software, as well as electrical and mechanical specifications for hardware.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of fourteen (14) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope and complexity. A Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field from an accredited institution is required. Alternatively, five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
  • Possession of an active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is mandatory.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in architecting cloud environments, particularly with AWS.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools, such as Tenable.
