Transportation Operations Manager

Job Summary

The Tractor Trailer Driver will utilize their Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to safely operate tractor trailers for Breakthru Beverage Group. This role involves loading and unloading pallets, products, and equipment to deliver goods from our distribution center to customers' places of business. The successful candidate will meet or exceed company productivity standards, policies, and safety rules and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine the condition of the vehicle by inspecting it before and after use, logging the inspection, and reporting any requirements.
  • Ensure correct loading of the vehicle by loading product or material and directing material handlers.
  • Deliver product or material to the destination by identifying the destination and driving the vehicle on the assigned route.
  • Ensure the operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements and following the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions, call for repairs, maintain equipment inventories, and evaluate new equipment and techniques.
  • Maintain a safe vehicle and conditions and protect the load by complying with company policies and procedures and highway rules and regulations.
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Maintain records by completing a driver log, obtaining shipper and receiver authorizations, and filing documents.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following company standards and legal requirements.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the jobholder's supervisor.

Requirements

  • CDL-A Required
  • At least one year of related delivery experience and/or training
  • Possess a general knowledge of DOT regulations and a proven history of safe driving.
  • Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, team or independent environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual a plus, but not required

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently sit, stand, bend, squat, and reach.
  • Frequently climb into and out of the truck.
  • Regularly lift 45-65 lbs.
  • Must talk, hear, use hands and fingers to operate a vehicle and tech device.

Competencies

  • Accountable for meeting own targets, work is reviewed periodically.
  • Problems encountered will be defined, repetitive, and routine with a solution readily available.
