Position Overview:

Ayres Associates is on the lookout for a seasoned transportation engineer to join our dynamic Southeast division. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in managing and executing transportation initiatives for governmental agencies, including FDOT and local municipalities. Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and pursue marketing opportunities, collaborating effectively to secure transportation projects from various clients, including state and local government entities.
  • Oversee project management, ensuring timely delivery, profitability, and adherence to Ayres Associates' quality standards and contractual obligations.
  • Foster and maintain positive working relationships with project managers and company leadership.
  • Engage in the development and mentorship of junior staff members.
  • Participate actively in relevant professional organizations.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a specialization in transportation.
  • Current professional engineer (PE) license in Florida.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience in transportation engineering.
  • Strong project management capabilities in the transportation sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in business development, with a focus on identifying and securing projects.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in urban and rural roadway design.
  • Knowledge of PD&E and corridor studies.
  • Expertise in lighting and signalization design.
  • Commitment to representing Ayres Associates with professionalism.
