Position Overview

The Director of Regulatory Affairs plays a pivotal role in orchestrating, managing, and assessing compliance initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety and quality. This leadership position ensures adherence to Federal, State, and local regulatory standards while focusing on accreditation and certification processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the communication and notification processes related to regulatory matters, providing education to staff and leadership.
  • Facilitate both virtual and onsite evaluations conducted by external regulatory and accreditation bodies.
  • Coordinate mock surveys with external consultants or internal accreditation teams to ensure preparedness.
  • Develop and implement strategies for corrective actions and monitoring plans to sustain improvements.
  • Collaborate on special initiatives as required by the organization.
  • Act as a resource and consultant for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage in committees within the organization or health system to promote regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • A Master's Degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred, with a background in nursing, public health, or a related clinical discipline being advantageous.
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in healthcare, demonstrating knowledge of accreditation and certification processes.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a management role.
  • Preferred experience in regulatory compliance, quality improvement, patient safety, risk management, or project management.
  • Licensure or certification in a healthcare-related discipline is required.
  • Certification as a Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) is preferred.
