The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a highly skilled Primary Care Physician to join our team at the WJB Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC. As a Primary Care Physician, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care to our nation's veterans, providing comprehensive primary care services, and working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide primary care services to veterans, including routine check-ups, preventive care, and management of chronic and acute health conditions
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of health issues, including but not limited to, hypertension, diabetes, and mental health conditions
- Prescribe medications and treatments as necessary
- Participate in educational activities to promote health and wellness among patients
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and coordination of services
- Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
