Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief of Surgery to lead our surgical department at the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing surgical procedures, pre-operative and post-operative care, and administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee surgical procedures and related care
  • Practice within your specialty and fulfill administrative responsibilities
  • Interact positively with the VA Health Care System's leadership team
  • Lead and promote best evidence-based practices and surgical staff excellence and staff development
Requirements
  • Minimum of one (1) year of management and academic experience
  • One year leadership experience as a Service Chief or other senior leadership position in a multispecialty surgical service/department
  • Qualify for faculty appointment at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine
