We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Lead Information Specialist to enhance our team at Library Systems & Services. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the organization and management of our Information Center's essential resources and instructional services, as guided by our management team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service Coordination: Ensure exceptional service delivery within the Information Center while providing strategic insights to management for both short-term and long-term planning.
  • Collection Development: Collaborate with management to identify collection needs that align with educational and informational objectives.
  • Resource Evaluation: Assess and enhance the effectiveness of instructional and informational support services.
  • Reference Services: Deliver comprehensive reference, research, and instructional services to our clientele.
  • Digital Resource Management: Develop and maintain a centralized repository for eBooks and ePublications.
  • Collection Assessment: Oversee the evaluation of existing print and media collections, recommending digital resource alternatives.
  • Copyright Management: Stay informed on copyright regulations and manage clearance processes efficiently.
  • Instructional Briefings: Conduct informative sessions on the resources available at the Information Center for students and instructional staff.
  • Web Presence Enhancement: Work with Schools/Centers and management to continuously improve our online resources to meet instructional needs.
Qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • M.LIS. (Master's in Library and Information Science) from an accredited program.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in information centers or library services.
  • Proficiency in current information technologies.
  • Strong customer service, time management, coordination, and listening skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of information sciences, contemporary library services, and collection development.
  • Expertise in database management and evaluation of information resources.
  • Familiarity with copyright laws and a solid understanding of world geography and history.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Multilingual capabilities (not mandatory).
