Position Summary:
The Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in identifying, enhancing, and developing technological solutions that align with our strategic objectives. This position operates at the nexus of business and technology, requiring a comprehensive understanding of business operations and data analysis while fostering the development of analytical, organizational, and communication skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Gathering, analyzing, specifying, and validating requirements while creating workflows, user stories, or defect reports.
  • Monitoring the health of backlogs and managing progress and maintenance.
  • Collaborating with product managers to comprehend business vision, priorities, and expectations.
  • Proposing innovative ideas, tools, and resources to enhance the product development process.
  • Assisting the scrum master in daily scrum activities.
  • Proactively responding to team communications to ensure continuous development progress.
  • Owning and executing all features under their responsibility.
  • Determining the priority of defects and/or user stories.
  • Facilitating communication between various business lines while engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders and collaborating with the team.
  • Working collaboratively in teams to build meaningful relationships aimed at achieving common objectives.
  • Documenting requirements with consistency and precision.
  • Managing the prioritization of product items based on business value.
  • Assisting the engineering team in overcoming impediments and blockers.
  • Collaborating on backlog items and feature readiness with clients, stakeholders, requestors, and subject matter experts from other business units.
  • Stepping outside of comfort zones to acquire new skills relevant to product team needs.
  • Partnering with training teams to ensure alignment of communicated details in the field with feature specifics.
  • Playing a significant role in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to guarantee successful releases.
  • Maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude to inspire team morale.
  • Participating in backlog refinement and conducting refinement reviews.
  • Working closely with the scrum master to ensure team preparedness for sprint planning, sizing, sprint completions, demos to business, and meeting release timelines.
  • Being available to clarify and eliminate ambiguity for the scrum team regarding any stories or features.
  • Participating in all scrum ceremonies and managing sprint completions.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in cloud environments such as AWS, S3, APIs, and Jira.
  • Experienced in business applications, data management, and usage.
  • Expertise in backlog management and generating various reports (burndown, velocity, capacity, etc.).
  • Self-motivated with strong communication and presentation skills, capable of translating complex business challenges and solutions into easily understandable content.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies and Project Management Office (PMO) practices.
  • Strong focus on internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • High proficiency in MS Office applications and working knowledge.
  • Advanced skills in defining user stories and writing acceptance criteria, in addition to facilitating effective refinement sessions.

Desired Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Business Analysis Certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a related role is preferred.
